Product Detail

304 and 316 Stainless Steel Sanitary Ball Valves

Engineered for uncompromising purity and reliability in hygienic process systems, our 304 and 316 Stainless Steel Sanitary Ball Valves are available in both manual and pneumatic actuated configurations. These valves are specifically designed for the stringent demands of the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, biotech, and cosmetic industries, where cleanability, corrosion resistance, and leak-proof operation are critical.

Constructed from polished AISI 304 or superior 316 stainless steel, these valves feature crevice-free internal designs and standardized sanitary connections to prevent bacterial harborage and facilitate efficient Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-in-Place (SIP) procedures. The manual versions offer precise, tactile control, while the pneumatic actuated models provide automated, rapid shut-off or diversion essential for modern process automation, batch control, and aseptic processing. As a cornerstone of hygienic fluid handling, these valves ensure product integrity, process safety, and compliance with global sanitary regulations.

Hygienic Design & Construction:

The valve body is precision investment cast or forged from certified 304 (CF8) or 316 (CF8M) stainless steel, then extensively machined and polished. The design prioritizes drainability and cleanability with no dead legs, fully radiused corners, and smooth, continuous internal surfaces. The full-port ball design minimizes pressure drop and allows for effective CIP pigging. All internal wetted parts are mirror-polished (Ra ≤ 0.8µm) and can be electropolished to further reduce surface roughness and enhance passive layer formation.

MARKING AND PACKING

Cleanroom Packaging Protocol:

After final testing, valves are thoroughly cleaned with high-purity solvents, dried, and passivated. Each valve is then individually bagged in a Class 100 (ISO 5) cleanroom using static-dissipative, medical-grade polyethylene bags. Bags are heat-sealed and often nitrogen-purged to prevent condensation and oxidation.

 Protective & Organized Shipping:

Individually bagged valves are placed in double-walled, virgin-fiber corrugated boxes with custom foam inserts. Pneumatic actuators are protected separately and may be shipped mounted or detached per request. For palletized shipments, boxes are secured and wrapped with clean polyethylene stretch film.

Documentation & Marking:
Each box is labeled with product code, size, material (304/316), connection type, and serial/lot number for full traceability.

INSPECTION

All stainless steel components are sourced with full Material Test Certificates (MTC 3.1). We perform Positive Material Identification (PMI) using XRF analyzers to verify 304 vs. 316 composition, particularly the Molybdenum content in 316.

Critical Dimensions: Connection face-to-face dimensions, port diameters, and actuator mounting interfaces are verified against 3-A and ASME BPE dimensional standards.

Surface Roughness: Internal wetted surfaces are tested with a portable profilometer to certify Ra values (e.g., ≤ 0.8 µm). Electropolished surfaces are checked for continuity and quality.

Visual & Borescope Inspection: Under controlled lighting, all internal passages are examined for polishing streaks, pits, or scratches. A borescope is used for complex cavities.
